Week 44 (11 May - 17 May 2003)
Slug

"Ewwwwwwww, gross," said Stipple, shining his lantern just down the dungeon passage.
"Yuckyyyy," said Erodon.
"Look at how slimy it is," said Stipple, shuddering.
"Gross," said Erodon. "and look at it squirming along. Gross."
"Gross," said Stipple. "Look at its little beady eyestalks."
"Ewww," said Erodon.
"That's not terribly polite," said the slug.

This week, another leftover putty miniature. I like these because they're unplanned, so they're usually a bit simpler to carry out. The amount of putty left determines to some extent what I'm going to make, so there are material constraints (self imposed though they be) that I don't usually have when I sculpt bigger and better-planned projects.

So it's a slug. Slugs are like blobs: it's a bit harder to do them well than it would seem. The detail isn't coming through terribly well, so I'll have to describe it: there's a flagstone base, on which is a slug, who's got some vaguely liquid textures running down his body. They move almost into feelers at the front of the body. The eyestalks you can see. The lumpy thing is a lumpy thing.

So, I'm once again disappointed at the lack of detail produced by scanning this guy. He's admittedly quite small, but I'm still afraid he just doesn't look as good as he could.
