Headless gladiator
This was my entry for the first Visions in Putty show. It was my first attempt at sculpting a miniature, and my lack of experience shows. I didn't do any conversion to my own figure. I'd thought about adding some tubing to the neck, but decided that the original sculpt was good enough for my purposes here.
The theme of the show was gladiators, and I knew from the beginning that my entry would be among the worst-sculpted. I decided to incorporate that into the story of the miniature, and give the better-sculpted gladiators a victim. I imagine the emperor from two weeks ago has given him the thumbs-down.
The armor was based in GW Brazen Brass, then highlighted with GW Chainmail and inked with a variety of brown and blue inks (blue/dark brown for depth, reddish brown for rust). The straps are Reaper Elven Green highlighted with Apple Barrel Pewter Gray and Reaper Caucasian. The skin is Reaper Chestnut highlighted very sparingly with Reaper Caucasian. The blood is GW Red Gore and Blood Red. The base is a mix of browns, as is often the case around here.
