Snail

Once again short on projects and long on extra putty, I started playing around with new designs. This project began with some brown putty I'd overmixed. I rolled out a tapering piece, then curled it into a snailshell form. (This actually took quite a while -- it was tough to get right.) As it cured, I tapped in the lines with a sharp-edged tool.
After that had cured, I worked up the body. (The base had been lying in wait. . . .) Again, it took me three or four attempts to get something that I was reasonably satisfied with. For now, it's a lumpy sort of thing.
